About

Hi! I’m Megan.

Little Gray Squirrel became my crafty alter ego because I love watching squirrels, I am easily distracted by fun new projects, I hunt and gather crafting supplies to stash away, and I tend to gain a few pounds in the winter.

To create is to be alive.  I am a lifelong crafter and maker.

Since I was young, I had always loved to help in the kitchen.  Graduating from culinary school was a dream of mine since I was 14 years old, which I completed.  After 15 years in the restaurant industry, I turned in my chef’s coat to spend more time with my family. I am still most at home in the kitchen, it is the heart of the home.  Fortunately I don’t have to work in a kitchen to be able to have fun with food and create delicious recipes.

In the time since, I have invented a unique storage product, I got a Silhouette Cameo (which changed my crafting life), and I have watched my two boys grow into young men seemingly overnight.  Recently my husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary.

I am frugal by nature and enjoy finding value.  I am an avid treasure hunter.  To me, treasure takes many forms; I go metal detecting and panning for gold, I search for collectible toys, and enter contests of all kinds, but I also seek treasure in the things I can use, or better yet, re-use in my projects, and most especially in the treasure of creating memories from time spent with loved ones.

I started this blog to share tips and ideas related to crafting, food, family, travel and more.

Let’s have fun and make stuff!

Best,

Megan
